Best of September

September was a BUSY month! My mind is so full I feel like I need to do a lemon cayenne cleanse on it. The month started off with my last photoshoot in Toronto for the time being, wearing urban monochrome with a bright Jump From Paper 2-Dimensional bag. Then I showed you the amazing Spread Nutellerie, whose deep fried jalapeño nutella concoctions still haunt my daydreams (Tony if you’re reading this please come to Halifax!). Next I got a WICKED new Arc mouse from Microsoft that folds and works like a charm. It’s now in my bag more often than most of my actual good luck charms. Huh. The next look I brought to you electrified the early fall shades of Halifax with a deep cobalt blue dress and orangered lipstick. I loved your comments on that one, thanks sweethearts! :D Finally I brought news of Microsoft DreamSpark, a great awesome fantastic opportunity for ALL students to get FREE software! Do it. Really though, do it.

Here’s to a new month, and my favourite one of the year! I’ve always loved October because it’s always been a kind of party month, especially when I was little. Not only is Halloween an incredibly fun holiday, but both my and my best friend’s birthdays are this month! And this is a big one: WE BOTH TURN 20! Ahh!

Happy October, techies!

Best of August - the month of twos

august 2013

Wow, where did the summer holiday go? It’s already September, which means a few weeks of summer left before the leaves turn and fall, and midterm exams come along, and before we know it it’ll be time to carve pumpkins. August was a great and crazy month with lots of ups and downs, and a bunch of my favourite posts yet! It seems like I did a lot of pairs this month - two photoshoots, two concerts, two sponsored posts - so August’s theme is the month of twos!

My two major photoshoots in August were my Gemy gown at sunrise and my vintage velvet bathing suit shoot with a 1964 Corvette Sting Ray. I love concept shoots like these because it’s so fun to transform into a character with full hair and makeup. I do all my own styling, so it’s an added bonus that I get to practice my technical beauty skills!

I went to two concerts this August: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Wiz Khalifa’s Under the Influence of Music Tour where I held hands with B.o.B, my favourite rapper! Yes, I’m still all giddy about it.

The last pair was my two sponsored posts - my Von Vonni giveaway (which I’ll announce the winner of tomorrow!!) and my five minute last-all-night makeup look with BA Star! The promo code for Trendy Techie readers is still active until the end of this month: use the code BBDUST at checkout for 50% off!

Finally, the post that was most dear to my heart out of all the posts I’ve done, was when I showed you my Nonna’s Secret Garden. It’s so beautiful, and she’s so beautiful. I love you Nonna! <3

And I love all you techies. Thank you for reading my blog and following me on this journey of mine. Today I am moving into my first apartment with my boyfriend, so we have a lot of unpacking and decorating to do to make this place ours! Wish us luck!

Best of July! Month of Music

Wow, is it really August already? It feels like just yesterday we moved into July. Pretty soon it’s going to be fall and I’ll be able to wear my awesome oversized orange coat from Coach!

Trendy Techie's best of July

I can’t believe that this was only my third month of blogging! It’s been so much fun so far and I’m looking forward to many more months with you.

July was really cool for Trendy Techie. It started out with a reflection on tablet choices, and why I chose my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 over an Apple iPad. And who doesn’t love a good sale? Next I went to Fashion Outlets of Niagara in Buffalo for a very successful haul.

If I had to pick a theme for July, it would definitely be Month of Music. From the walls of guitars at Cosmo Music to touching Kevin Jonas and Tim McGraw at their concerts, music ruled so much of my mind and heart this month! I even got to play at two of Jeanne Lottie’s events: her Tea Party with The Loved One, and her 28th Anniversary Party - congrats again, Jane!

The coolest place I went this month was Ohsweken Village, on a Six Nations reserve. I bought a cow skull from Iroqrafts that I’m going to paint one day! I’ll keep you posted on that development.

I got to do a couple guest posts this month and be part of the Ology.com #VoicesOfStyle campaign. One of my guest posts was the very popular “What’s In My Bag” post featuring my Coach bag!

Finally, I did a post about my favourite summer outfit, crop tops and high-waisted shorts.

Best of June

Happy July, techies! For Canadians like me that means Happy Canada Day! xo

trendy techie june recap 2013

This month was a big month for Trendy Techie! I gained a bunch of followers on my new Bloglovin’ account, and made an online collage of my pics on tumblr!

I kicked off the month with Holt Renfrew’s epic 60% off Spring Designer Sale, where I got this awesome Little Futuristic Dress by Milly.

I dared to dream and climbed up high on a fire escape wearing my comfy rock and roll look!

I ate some DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL macarons and experimented with the focus on my camera.

Then I went back in time with a retro dress from Fashion Crimes and explored my role models and who I want to be as an influential, modern woman.

June also brought the beginning of summer, and what better way to start the season than with a carnival?

After a few months without him, my boyfriend came to Toronto for a visit and we vacationed in my own city, staying at the Fairmont Royal York and the Westin Harbour Castle, and enjoying every moment seeing Toronto like the tourists do.

The Redpath Waterfront Festival was a great reminder that Toronto has a fantastic waterfront! Our lake is not-so-little, and looks so much like an ocean.

We finished off the month with a great dinner at the CN Tower’s rotating restaurant, 360. The view of the city is breathtaking at night.

So techies, what was your favourite moment of June? What about your favourite post? Let’s reminisce together as we move into the heat of July!
